Progress Log: The 12-Mile Ice Cream Burn

Date: August 11, 2026

Talk about putting excess energy to work! After blowing my 1500-calorie limit yesterday on three full servings of Hood Strawberry Ice Cream (a massive 540-calorie hit), I refused to sit in a cycle of diet guilt today. Instead, I used that sugar spike as fuel.
I dusted off my bicycle and hit the road for a intense 12.16-mile cycling ride.
Cycling route
Putting 540 calories of ice cream to work with a 12.16-mile bike ride that burned 519 calories.

I maintained a solid average speed of 11.03 mph, keeping my heart rate elevated for over an hour and burning approximately 519 calories. I literally transformed yesterday’s sweet overindulgence into today’s raw physical power, exhausting my muscle glycogen stores and resetting my metabolic baseline cleanly.

The lesson? A slipup isn’t a dead end—it’s just a detour that can drive you right back to your goals.
