August 9, 2026 Food Blueprint

A bowl of tomato-based tortellini soup with melted shredded cheese on top, a side of steamed broccoli florets, and a glass of ice water on a placemat.
Today is about cleaning up the fridge and mastering the balance. On the menu is a comforting batch of homemade tortellini soup. The canned tomatoes I used were completely sodium-free, which is a win, but the base was built on heavy commercial chicken and beef broths. The result? A massive, hidden wave of sodium.

In the future, my strict goal is to keep my daily sodium under 1,500 mg—ideally under 1,200 mg to keep my blood pressure down and my joints healthy. Most of the time, this is easily done with smart ingredient choices.

But I am not throwing away good food. Instead of calling today a failure, I am using The Pivot strategy. By keeping every other single eating slot today completely fresh, raw, and salt-free, I can enjoy my homemade soup, hit my 117-gram protein goal, and still keep my entire day safely under the standard health limits.

You manage the hurdles, you adjust the pace, and you keep moving forward. Here is my menu today to keep me on track.
